(Short-Ish) Biography
Hi! We are the Flying Earrings, a FLINTA-fronted Queer Alt-Pop band from Leipzig/Germany.
Music critics say we “sound like progressive rock made by theater kids,” we “deliver bold indie rock with sharp guitar riffs and confident vocals,” but we are “not subtle enough and too direct” — which, to be honest, is intentional.
On stage and in our songs, we celebrate queerness, intimacy, big feelings, and radical emotions, from slippery horny to incandescent angry and back again
We consist of front woman Serpentina, guitar/keys/producer Elfyn, and bassist Markus and released our first EP Dreams on March 27, 2025, followed by our first live EP Dreams (live at Bandhaus) on July 11, 2025.
We are currently working on our debut album, which is slated for release in the summer of 2026, and we’re counting on it finding lots and lots of people out there who need and celebrate our music as much as we do.
(Somewhat) Longer Biography
The Flying Earrings began as a fictional band in a screenplay by frontwoman Serpentina (aka Riley Alexandra Dedio).
During the COVID pandemic, she (re)discovered her love for the guitar and soon added the (electric) ukulele and other instruments.
An experienced film and television writer/director (including three Netflix documentaries), she now began writing her first songs and played her first, still rather tentative, live concert in November 2024, thanks to the support of vocal coach/producer/music wizard Elfyn.
In early 2025, Markus joined the band on bass(es), completing its current permanent lineup.
After almost three years of work, the Flying Earrings’ first album, entitled “Dreams,” was released on March 27, 2025, which they celebrated with their first (real) concert at Bandhaus Leipzig.
A recording of this concert was released on July 11, 2025, as a live EP.
More live gigs followed, and the Flying Earrings are currently working on a new album, which is slated for a Summer 2026 release.
