New Song Alert! Well, new as in unreleased. This is I think the second time we've played it live. Here's us, last weekend, at fabulous @csdstendal, performing "You", a collab with the amazing @lunafacious (who also shot this video. Thanks again to the @csd_sachsenanhalt team for having us. It's so important to be visible in smaller communities. Loving the vibe of this, an intro of things to come. Your next chance to see "You" (and the rest of our set) live is in just two weeks! We'll be playing @muehlkeller_leipzig on October 16th, together with our good friends from @layyers_official. #flyingearrings #livemusic #pride #csd #onstage -
Well here's some exciting news! We've got a new gig coming up... IN TWO DAYS! The Flying Earrings are gonna play at @csdstendal and we couldn't be more excited about this! Expect things to get very political... because, as you may have heard, Stendal is in the heart of Sachsen-Anhalt... Where over 40% of people voted for a party that not only does not see us as fully human, but wants to literally eradicate us. But the flipside of this is also true: They are not a majority and they will never, ever win. Tl;dr: fuck that, and the Nazi horse it rode in on. And in that spirit I CANNOT WAIT to bellow Warpaint - and am hoping you will ALL be there to sing along with me. 📸 @juliamondgesicht #flyingearrings #noafd #transrightsarehumanrights #antifa -
Bit quiet around here lately, eh? Well... I don't know if you noticed, but this timeline isn't super good for trans folx like us. We've got some news coming up over the next few days, but before we dive into that, I wanted to sing the praises of @pizzalableipzig I play and bartend there every Thursday, basically, and it's... Just the best open mic in the city. But more than that, it's community. It's here that we build relationships with other exciting musicians. It's here that we polish new songs. It's here that we feel safe. These pics are from last week, courtesy of @howieyagaloo who did an amazing job photographing all acts that night. -
Unboxing time! You may remember there was... A bit of a mishap with a custom guitar I ordered a few months ago. Well, the factory just sent the replacement! How will it go this time? Let's find out! And let's also address the elephant in the room, while we're at it... #flyingearrings #unboxing #newguitar -
So I don't know if you knew this, but @theelfyn is an absolute witch and if you have any music production needs, you should hire her. Look at... I mean listen to what she managed to make from our potato quality in camera sound recording! I'm stunned. And in awe. Anyway, here's an actual... Is it a remix? A proper mix, or as proper as can be made, of Blackbird's Call. Audio from @csdweimar this year, video from that and @queerpridedd and Spxlxnkx and Fête de la musique at @kursif_ Camera by @artemis.s.chaos and @cardaoakler Enjoy! #flyingearrings #altrock #onstage #queerpride #blackbirdscall -
"Breakfast, in a bathrobe? My father would not have allowed that!" That's what a mostly lovely sometimes questionable older woman said upon hearing this song for the first time. I daresay he wouldn't have, m'dear, no. We've got another live compilation ready, full video on YouTube, as always. Please share far and wide and help us get a few more subs to help with fall gigs. 📸 @artemis.s.chaos @cardaoakler -
So when we say we've got cool things coming, this is the kind of stuff we're talking about. Last weekend, @pestkater and @riley.dedio went on a little trip to Berlin and got shot most beautifully by the amazing @lunafacious and @gasherg14. What for, pray tell? Well there may be a music video in the works. Or we may just have gotten seduced by a lovely fruit platter provided by @luwakcofffee Who knows? -
New live video out now! It's about time we share what Warpaint has become with everyone who couldn't make it to our gigs this summer. Spoiler: Bit of a speed run towards the end 😂 As @estha_verity_rose put it: "The patriarchy can't burn fast enough!" 🔥🔥🔥 Are those the fires of the funeral pyres? Or is it just another heat wave? I've lost count... It is too hot for more thoughts, so... Full length video is over on YouTube, please check it out and leave some love over there. 📸 @artemis.s.chaos & @cardaoakler -
Some songs just... come together when you play them. We shared some clips of Blackbird's Call before, but never the whole song. That's because it wasn't ready yet. Well... It is now, so here it is, live, four different places, four different days, four different lineups. Enjoy! And see you soon! (We did our best with the sound, this is what you get when you forget to record live and have to make due with in camera sound...) -
Oh my, what a journey Blackbird's Call has had - and it's not even been released. It was... A ballad, a love song, a tempting of fate... And is still all of these and yet none of them. The bare bones Blackbird came together during a hospital stay last year, based on the world's most common chord progression. It was a decent enough beginning, for sure... But what truly made it come alive was rehearsing and playing it with Ari and Estha... And Weimar was the first time it truly felt... Well, ready. Can't wait to see what it will look (and sound, and feel) like when we get to take it to the studio in a few weeks.
