SHORT, SNAPPY BIO
Hi! We are the Flying Earrings, a FLINTA-fronted Queer Alt-Pop band from Leipzig/Germany.
Music critics say we “sound like progressive rock made by theater kids,” we “deliver bold indie rock with sharp guitar riffs and confident vocals,” but we are “not subtle enough and too direct” — which, to be honest, is intentional.
On stage and in our songs, we celebrate queerness, intimacy, big feelings, and radical emotions, from slippery horny to incandescent angry and back again
We consist of front woman Serpentina, guitar/keys/producer Elfyn, and bassist Markus and released our first EP Dreams on March 27, 2025, followed by our first live EP Dreams (live at Bandhaus) on July 11, 2025.
We are currently working on our debut album, which is slated for release in the summer of 2026, and we’re counting on it finding lots and lots of people out there who need and celebrate our music as much as we do.
LONG(ER) BIO
The Flying Earrings began as a fictional band in a screenplay written by headmistress Serpentina (aka Riley Alexandra Dedio).
During the COVID pandemic, she began to re-discover her love for guitar and soon added electric ukulele and other instruments to the fray.
A veteran film & television writer/director (of, among other things, 3 Netflix documentaries), she also began writing her first songs and played a first, cautious live show in November 2024, courtesy of singing teacher / producer / musical magician Elfyn.
They were joined by Markus on the bass in early 2025, completing the current permanent lineup of the band.
Almost three years in the making, Flying Earrings first record, “Dreams” came out on March 27, 2025, an event they celebrated with their first (for real) concert at Bandhaus Leipzig, a recording of which was released as a live EP on July 11, 2025.
The band is currently working on an upcoming album, the details of which are yet to be released.
Expect news by Christmas and a release date in Spring of 2026.
