I started the Earrings something like two years ago. Back then, it was an exciting little side project, nothing more. @theelfyn and I began recording a few songs and, before too long, I thought well, now there's songs, I gotta perform them. That turned into well, I can't play everything by myself, I need a band. That was January 2025. That was when Project Flying Earrings really took off. And with that came dreams of glory. Gods I was blissfully naïve. Don't get me wrong, the dreams are still there. It's just that it took this long for me to even begin to realize just how much effort, how much work, how many rejections it'll take to get... Well, anywhere. And it's a good thing I didn't know, or else I'd never have gotten started. So now it's How Music Works and All You Need To Know About The Music Business (11th edition) and Basic Music Theory (4th Edition) and Great Composers of the 20th Century and How To Write Songs People Love and... This is serious, is what I'm saying. And so am I. - Serpentina

Even in this godforsaken timeline, cool things do happen! I was out with River yesterday, just practicing a bit, you know, playing Breakfast and Warpaint and Blackbird, the usual... And this lovely guy walks up (with his two cute dogs) and asks me if I've got a hat. A hat? "You know, so I can pay you." I explained that I didn't, that I'm just practicing, but he said he liked it so much, he wanted to give me something. So here's 20 cents I made yesterday, which is, like, how many Spotify streams? I don't even know... Also, because it was just a spontaneous thing... there's a little contest hidden in this reel, a chance to get a free T-shirt! Can you solve the riddle?
