So this is what joy looks like, specifically the joy of having just completed my very first band rehearsal. YAY!

A lot of similarities to directing here. You gotta lead. You gotta listen to input. You gotta be clear when it’s good… And gentle when it’s not.

Gute Idee, machen wir nicht.

This is the (German) way. Roughly translates to “good idea, let’s not” and yeah.

Not that there was any of that in this rehearsal. It was just joy. And oh boy a steep learning curve. Well, we’ve got a month to get this show going.
