Here's to #throwbackthursday and to our very first concert almost a year ago at @bandhaus_leipzig. And what a night it was! I can't thank @lyntlyntlynt enough for setting the stage for us that night. You guys were amazing! And also a huge shout-out to @karienkruger and @janesworld.jw for stepping up and completing the amazing lineup that was the Flying Earrings that night. Do songs need Content Warnings? I'm currently working on a new song called "Quiet". It's about one of the darkest times in my life. There's nothing explicit, but if you've been deep in depression, you probably get it. I don't want to trigger anything without consent... ... But I also don't want to tell people how to feel. So the core of this month's newsletter is twofold: A mixtape... Ahem... Playlist... And a bonus ramen recipe. How come? OeA Music’s resident Facilitator of Awesome (FOA) gave us a challenge: What are three songs that inspired you to play music? This led to an extended group chat, which spilled over into a band dinner – coincidentally also inspired by the FOA (hence the recipe). This is what we came up with…which, shockingly, isn’t something that lends itself to a traditional mix. Much like us, it isn’t easily categorized, is kinda all over the place, but taken as a whole actually makes total sense. 🤣 So we suggest you put it on shuffle and treat it not as a mix, but an MP3 player on chaos mode: a musical library where everything is there because it speaks to you somehow…but always an adventure in random. We share this playlist via our accounts on Tidal, Deezer, and YouTube Music. While we're keeping our music on Spotify for now, we do not actively promote it. I suppose after teasing the new album, the logical next step is to tease a song from it. If you've seen us live recently, you may remember this one. In fact, just thinking back to last Friday, someone came to me after the show and said that this was their favorite song of the night. They told me, "When I heard that opening melody, I knew this was gonna be good." Not gonna lie, that felt real good to hear. And if you have a real keen ear, you may recognize it from last Christmas's lil reel 😍 Anyhow, enjoy fam. And this lil song of ours? It'll change a chunk before it comes out. It'll get even better. If you've been waiting for the artwork reveal of our upcoming album... ... You'll have to wait just a bit longer, sorry!!! What can I say, I've got the expertise to be an expert tease... Wait, that's good, lemme write that down. If you subscribed to our newsletter - which you totally should, link is in our bio - you may have seen this already. It's what I gave our amazing graphics designer @juliamondgesicht to base the album artwork on... Very, very loosely. And yes, it is an album TITLE reveal at the very least. Coming this Summer, look for our debut LP, "Dancing in the Darkroom".
