Girl Of My Dreams
My dreams is where she likes to hide.
Does she seek solace? Wish that I
Could set her free, but then the curtain’s drawn
And I ask the restless dawn if in her dreams I reside.
So many years to find the girl of my dreams,
Wondering if she’s somewhere out there.
So many nights I thought this is the one,
Only to awaken lost without her.
Once there was raven with hair black as night,
Who ruled her life like a bird in flight.
Took me as lover, though not the only one.
And with that, I came undone and I lost her shining light.
And there was nine, my lovely leading lady
And oh my god, was she ever a beauty.
Gave it all to call her mine, and dance together, rain or shine,
But she ended up in someone else’s movie.
So many years to find the girl of my dreams,
Wondering if she’s even out there.
So many nights I prayed lelet t thbe is be one,
Only to awaken lost without her.
Then there was silver, who opened up my cage of fear
And let all my dreams just swoop around her.
But my wings turned into lead just like all the poets said
And they were useless for the dreams I dreamt without her.
And I would have died for a true Kingmaker
And set the world aflame if it would sate her.
But it would have been in vain, for king I never could have been,
And death is cheap, without someone to live for.
Beneath me, the abyss
Wherein no dreams of her exist
And all alone I fell to face eternity.
Measured not by how I fared,
But how greatly I had dared,
It had taken my demise, to see myself right through her eyes,
And set us free.
So many years to find the girl of my dreams
Only to see her in the mirror.
I built a world for her to step right into
And live the life only I could give her.
The girl of my dreams is me
The girl of my dreams is me
I had to die to live again
To set myself free
The girl of my dreams
Was always me.
Always me.
The girl of my dreams is me.
Finally, I’m free.
